Most of what I do can happen over the phone, and a lot of it does. But life insurance asks questions people would rather answer across a table, and a Medicare decision made at 64 shapes the next twenty years of someone’s health care. If you would rather do this face to face, I would too.

Just south of Yamato Road on Federal Highway. When you arrive, let the receptionist know you are there to see Victor Kolbe and they will tell me you have arrived. I am reachable Monday to Friday, 11:30am to 8pm Eastern, and appointments can be booked across that whole window. One thing worth knowing about the building: reception is there until 5pm, and the doors lock automatically at five. If your appointment is after 5pm that is no problem at all — it just means I come down and let you in myself, so text or call when you arrive rather than waiting at the door.

What happens when you come in

The first meeting is a conversation, not an application. We talk about who depends on you, what you already have, what you owe, and what you would want to happen if the worst did. I will usually know within fifteen minutes which of the products I place is actually worth your money, and which are not — and I will tell you both.

Nothing is signed at a first meeting unless you want it to be. If a quote is useful, I run it across the carriers I work with and bring you the honest comparison, including the ones that did not win.

What to bring

Any policies you already hold, including the one through work
A list of your medications and doctors — this is what decides which carriers fit
Your Medicare card and any current plan documents, if Medicare is on the table
Rough figures for what is left on the mortgage and any other debts

There is a one-page checklist you can print: what to have ready. None of it is required. If all you bring is the question, that is enough to start.

Where I meet people

I am based in Boca Raton and regularly in Delray Beach. For the rest of Palm Beach County — Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Wellington, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter — I will come to you with a little notice. Outside Florida, I am licensed in 30 states and can do the whole thing remotely.
